Crackle
is a hydro-
philic coating designed to make latex
topcoats crackle. The latex topcoat
cracks when applied on top of the crackle
medium allowing the base coat color to
show through. This results in a rich, aged
antique finish that can be bold and bright
or calm and subdued.

may be
applied over any painted, primed, or
sealed surface. Clear, paintable sealers
may be used to allow bare wood, brick,
or metal to show through the cracks.

Coverage:
Over smooth, nonporous surfaces allow
100 sq. ft. per quart.
Over rough, porous, and textured sur-
faces allow 30 to 75 sq. ft. per quart.
Drying Time, @ 77°F, 50% RH:
temperature and humidity dependent
Touch: 1 hour
Topcoat: less than
4 hours
Drying Conditions
Room and surface temperature must be
50°F or above. Crackle dries best be-
tween 65°F and 85°F.
Dry Time
Allow to dry to the touch, about one hour
but no more than 4 hours, before top-
coating with latex paint.
Low temperatures and high humidity
may slow the drying time.
